Jennifer Fulwiler's book, Something Other Than God, about her conversion from atheism to Catholicism, was released this week. I have ordered the book for my wife, and I am looking forward to reading it too.
Here is a video of various bloggers and authors reading passages from this book. Be sure to watch for the great C. S. Lewis quote at the end, which was the source of the book's title:
Jennifer discusses the story behind the video here on her blog.

Minor Revisions with Jennifer Fulwiler - Episode 2
I am very thankful to hear that Catholic blogger Jennifer Fulwiler seems to be doing much better after a very serious health issue. The second episode of Jennifer's Catholic reality show Minor Revisions (produced by the NET NY Catholic TV network) has now been posted online, and you can watch it here:
This episode features an interview with pro-life author and former abortion clinic manager Abby Johnson, and a visit to the pro-life Vitae Clinic. You can also watch the first episode of Minor Revisions here.
The third and final episode has already aired on NET NY, but I will post it here if it becomes available online.

Two Videos for Pope Benedict's New Book "Jesus of Nazareth: The Infancy Narratives"
First the book trailer from Ignatius Press:
And then a short interview with Fr. Robert Barron on Fox News. (Please click the link to see the video, because the embed code isn't working.)
I thought that Pope Benedict's Jesus of Nazareth, Volume 1 was very good, but I haven't yet read Volume 2 or Volume 3. This third volume ("The Infancy Narratives") looks like a good book to read during the Advent and Christmas seasons. Here is the link to order it from Ignatius Press (U.S. orders only).

A New Book on Church History by James Hitchcock
Here is a video about a new book from Ignatius Press, History of the Catholic Church: From the Apostolic Age to the Third Millennium by James Hitchcock.
This looks like a book worth reading. I have heard good things about the author.

Minor Revisions with Jennifer Fulwiler - Episode 1
I posted last week about Jennifer Fulwiler's reality show Minor Revisions, which is airing in three episodes on NET NY, a Catholic TV network in New York. My wife and I watched the first episode as it aired live last night (we watched via the rather choppy internet stream), and now the full episode has been posted to YouTube:
Please see my previous post for information on when and where you can watch the next two episodes. (And if the next two episodes are posted to YouTube, I will post them here on this blog as well.)
(Video found on Aggie Catholics.)
UPDATE: According to Jennifer's blog, this episode was posted to YouTube only because many people had problems with the online streaming when it aired live. The episode will be available for a limited time only, so watch it while you can. Also, it sounds unlikely that the other two episodes will be posted to YouTube (but you can watch them via live streaming).

Scott Hahn: Paschal Sacrifice: A Heavenly Banquet for Earthly Beggars
In this video, Dr. Scott Hahn gives a talk that is related to his very interesting book The Lamb's Supper: The Mass as Heaven on Earth — a book which shows the parallels between the Eucharistic liturgy (the Mass) and the book of Revelation in the Bible.

The Brothers in Black on the YouCat
I discovered this video via a link on NewAdvent.org. From what I can gather, "The Brothers in Black" appear to be a group of young priests, deacons, and seminarians who have made several YouTube videos. I really like this video in which they talk about the importance of knowing your faith and discussing your faith, and how the YouCat (the church's official youth catechism) is one good resource for learning your faith:
You can find more information about YouCat here, as well as another video about YouCat here. And you can find more videos from "The Brothers in Black" on their YouTube channel. They also have a video series for the Year of Faith, covering the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Now that I have discovered "The Brothers in Black," I will probably be posting more of their videos in the future.

Happy Birthday, Pope Benedict!
According to the National Catholic Register, Pope Benedict turns 85 years old today. In honor of his birthday, here is an interview with Pope Benedict's brother, Monsignor Georg Ratzinger:
If you found the interview interesting, then you may want to read My Brother the Pope by Monsignor Ratzinger and Michael Hesemann.

Scott Hahn discusses the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible
Scott Hahn discusses the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible on EWTN Bookmark with Doug Keck, in the following video. I have a copy of this study Bible (the entire New Testament, plus several of the individual books), and I find it very impressive and helpful. I need to find some more time to get back to reading it.

Mary Eberstadt on "The Loser Letters"
In this episode of EWTN Bookmark, Doug Keck interviews Mary Eberstadt about her book The Loser Letters. I heard many good things about this book when it was released a year or two ago, and I enjoyed the sample chapter that I read, but I have not read the entire book.
